Zenonia 5 hits Android

Gamevil has released the next installment of its action RPG series, Zenonia, onto the Google Play Store. And that means that an iOS version shouldn't be too far behind. Subtitled Wheel of Destiny, the game is set long after the events of the fourth title in the series, and sees the world being overrun with monsters yet again. Cue some Zelda inspired top-down hacking and slashing as you try and restore order to once peaceful lands by killing everything that looks a bit like it might be about to do something bad. By the looks of the trailer, which you can check out for yourself below, it also looks like Gamevil has squashed a card battler into the game as well. Throw in PvP, four new classe…

The Bowling Dead Review

[This title is featured as the Mini-Review for the Friday News Wrap-Up for the 30th of November, 2012] It's a thin premise, but The Bowling Dead by Slant Six Games and Activision places you in the unusual position of a zombie apocalypse survivor who discovers a bowling ball that seems to be the only thing that can stop them. Obviously the first part isn't new, but the second part results in a strangely addictive title. It's a sort of mash up between Full Fat's Zombie Flick and a basi…

3volution - A Primordial Soup Challenge Review

Why is the E in evolution turned around into a 3 for the sake of this title? Well because the whole concept of primordial evolution is apparently aided by three helpers named Nunstuck, Git, and Slotermeyer. 3Volution has you evolving through life forms in what amounts to sort of a high speed soccer game, complete with power-ups and obstacles creating an experience that can be unfair and over before you know it, but set up so that you instantly press retry to give the whole affair anoth…

Jet Set Radio Review

Some games stick in your mind, not because they were particularly fun to play, but because it managed to grab you through its artistic expression. Strangely this isn't an uncommon thing, especially amongst games in the Indie scene, but Jet Set Radio is far from a small title and despite its age there's still something almost unquantifiable about its appeal. However, porting over a title comes with risks and challenges, especially when talking about the iOS platform and while much of t…

Trauma Ted Review

We've all played oh so many games like Trauma Ted. The quick, easy to play bursts of puzzle-y goodness, the simple yet endearing art and music, the level menu strewn with numbered tiles for all the options available. It seems that aside from some revolutionary gameplay ideas, the only thing that can make a game like this interesting after so many others is the premise. Well how about helping an injured cat with a migraine feed his painkiller addiction level by level, utilizing wrap aro…

Nun Attack Review

Review Frima By Dave Flodine, 11 years, 5 months ago
Nun Attack Review

Nuns with Guns. This statement depending on who you are can sound foolish, hilarious, or awesome. It's our opinion that Frima studio was counting on that last option as Nun Attack is a strategy action title that pits a cadre of devout gun-toting Catholics against the forces of the undead in order to stop the terrible reign of their fallen sister... and really it's more action than strategy. Each level consists of two portions. The first is dragging the sisters along a predetermined pa…

Review Nexus Game Studio By Dave Flodine, 11 years, 5 months ago
infinite Review

When you call your game Infinite, you create certain expectations in the player's mind. Seeing that this game is a consistent travel through the colored vastness of space to collect enough energy to birth stars, while dodging abstract obstacles and oppressive black holes, the name is apt. One touch control is the name of the game here. Your... whatever you are will orbit the planet, and touching the screen will extend that orbit outwards, allowing collection of energy that is further…

Heroes of Order & Chaos delayed for Android

Heroes of Order & Chaos delayed for Android

We weren't that enamoured with Gameloft's MOBA Heroes of Order & Chaos. It had some nice ideas, but they got a bit lost under connectivity issues, which just isn't good enough for an online only game. However, Android gamers haven't even had a chance to find out about the stability issues, because despite Gameloft promising a simultaneous release, the game is still conspicuous in its absence from the Google Play Store. This is because Gameloft is tinkering with some server issues they've discovered with the Android version. So hopefully Android players should have a far more stable experience when it does release than iOS players have been suffering. So if you're waiting with baited b…
