Get Jacked... for Gears!
Cause the name of the game is Gear Jack. Get it? Anyways, releasing sometime late this week or early next week, this platformer looks like a blast, with flipping, rolling, and plenty of slow downs and wall-jumping. Have a look at the trailer to see what I mean.…
Kings can Fly?
Kings can Fly almost has the same intials as KFC, but the game is not about fried chicken. No, it's about a bored king taking to the skies in a new puzzle game that releases on November 22nd. I could explain how it works, but trailers are oh so much better for that. Take a look.…
The Walking Dead finale hits iOS the same day as console and PC
November the 21st is the date for your diary if you're a fan of TellTale's harrowing point and click adventure series, as that's when the final episode, No Time Left will be released world wide. Where iOS device owners have had to wait patiently for the other installments while their console playin brethren ooh, aah, and scream in the next room, that's not going to happen this time, with the game hitting the App Store the same day as Steam, XBLA, and PSN. Interesting, the game is being dubbed as a season finale, which certainly suggests we can expect more pointing and clicking near zombies from TellTale in the not too distant future. It's only a few days since Episode 4 made its way ont…

Then, every day, you receive a push notification telling you that a new investigation has just become available. "You register for the investigation, test out the application, and reply to a questionnaire. Within 24 hours, you'll be credited with 20p on your AppXpert account." Once you hit $5, you can cash in via PayPal. Or if you have the patience, you can get an Amaz…
Storm the Train Review
Upon first loading up Storm the Train, you can be forgiven thinking you're about to play an action or stealth based game centered around robbing trains. Instead we find ourselves with a Monster Dash type run and gun as you hop from one train to the next, collecting new weapons and loads of coins as you blast away the undead, robot hordes, and even ninjas. And just like Monster Dash, the controls are a simple affair of on-screen directional buttons, a jump button, and of course a shoot…
Watch The Video ReviewDanny Trejo and Steve Wozniak team up to fight injustice
It's hard to think of a stranger team up than Danny Trejo - heavily tattoed reformed killer turned action movie actor - and Steve Wozniak - cuddly co-founder of Apple and occasional dancer with the stars. But that's exactly what tablet gamers are going to get in the not too distant future. A promotional tie-in for Trejo's next movie Vengenace called Danny Trejo's Vengeance: Woz With A Coz. Slated for a thanksgiving release, which could legitimately be anytime in the next week or so, we don't know anything about the game other that what we can gleam from its poster, which you can see above. Expect shooting, stabbing, and plenty of cartoon violence when the game hits tablets - which we pr…
Coin Army Review
Have you ever played one of those coin tossing games at an arcade (I know arcades aren't exactly common any more unless you live in Asia, but stick with me here)? Coin Army takes the concept of chucking coins forthwith, and trades out the opportunity to win cash and prizes with the success of a war effort... all wrapped up in a freemium package. Mmm, tasty. With the flick of a finger, you send coins out into battle. Think of them as thin, round, and shiny soldiers. Hitting tanks, comm…
Watch The Video ReviewSponsored Feature: Mobe Labb on Wars Online for iOS and Android
'Online'? 'Defend'? 'Kingdom'? After seeing these three words in a game's title, you might be forgiven for thinking you've seen all it has to offer before you've even downloaded it. Mobe Labb, developer of Wars Online - Defend Your Kingdom, is adamant, though, that this isn't the case with its latest effort for iOS and Android. Mobe Labb marketing director Andrej Osipov spoke to us about how he thinks his company's game smashes other entries in the genre, how important the online component of the title is, and how the game changes according to the season. While Mobe Labb's game mixes action, strategy, and tower defence, Osipov assures us that Wars Online - Defend Your Kingdom is…
Saturday Morning RPG episode 3 arrives
The third episode of the classic eighties cartoon inspired turn based RPG has hit the App Store, and it promises to be the largest update to the entertaining game so far. Episode 3 appears to focus heavily on robots, which isn't too much of a surprise when you consider its subtitle, To Bot or Not To Bot. There are extra boss encounters, and a new hoverboard that you can unlock to speed up travel times between locations in the game. Throw in some gameplay tweaks and you're left with a decent package. We've embedded a trailer for the episode below so you can get an idea of what you're going to be up against, and the new episode should be available to anyone who's purchased the game as a fre…
Heads Up! Hot Dogs Review
So what if I told you that on the App Store there was a game, that you can play on your Apple phone or tablet device that consisted of balancing hot dogs onto the heads of complete strangers out in the street? No, your ears did not deceive you, nor did your heart, for what I speak of is true! Heads Up! Hot Dogs is the one and only hot dog balancing arcade experience possibly in the whole of video game existence, and with such a concept, is it any surprise to hear that the publishers at…
Watch The Video ReviewFist of Awesome turns to Kickstarter
Nicoll Hunt, developer of the rather special Hard Lines, has turned to Kickstarter for a final push to get his next game, Fist of Awesome, finished off. The game sees you taking the role of Tim Burr, a Lumberjack who finds his house burned down and his family vanished. Cue time travel, side-scrolling, and an awful lot of bear punching. There's also a chiptune soundtrack provided by Echolevel. With a classic beat 'em up feel, a unique look, and plenty of character, Fist of Awesome certainly has the goods to stand out from the crowd in the App Store. And Hunt has a pedigree too, having worked for a number of AAA developers before finding success on his own with Hard Lines. You can check out…
SpinCraft Review
Pyp has one more chance to be a successful galactic pizza boy, otherwise he's out of a job and out of luck. Grab your spinny pizza delivery spin thingy, and get ready for some 3D platforming and gem collection. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you... Spincraft. Now is the game worthy of such a grand introduction? Is any game really? Not by a long shot! This doesn't mean that Spincraft is a bad game though. Unpolished may be a better turn of phrase. Each level has you picking up thre…

If you've already bought the full game on the App Store for $14.99, the new episode should be available for download right now. If you're paying as you go for the zombie adventure, it'll set you back $4.99. We gave the first episode of the game a 4 when we reviewed it earlier in the year, praising its tension and the way your conversations really had an affect on the world.…
Knights of Pen & Paper Review
Knights of Pen & Paper is funnily enough two games in one. On one hand, you have a pretty old school, turn based, D&D inspired, grind heavy, dungeon crawling RPG. On the other, the presentation takes one step back, and puts you in control of the players at the table, playing the old school, turn based, D&D inspired, grind heavy, dungeon crawling RPG. It's an approach that does a lot to lend a certain amount of charm to the retro style pixel graphics and music, but it might…
