Out of all the deadly things in a ninja's arsenal, one thing has always been missing. Parachutes! That is about to change with Parachute Ninja. After your village was burned and your family killed, you (a pacman look-a-like in a ninja suit) set out to enact revenge. Along the way your last surviving uncle Master Yo shows you the art of being a ninja.
Players use slingshot platforms to fling their way through the level, while avoiding obstacles and enemies, and not falling in the water below. Drag the platform down and in the direction you wish to be flung, and after the first level you can tap and hold on the screen to open your parachute. Then either use the tilt function or drag on the screen to move side to side. Controls are very good, even though the tilt is a little sensitive with no option to adjust.
The game's presentation is very well done. Vibrant colours and smooth animations make the game very easy on the eye. The sounds are clean and crisp and the music is the typical asian soundtrack you would expect in this setting. It fits perfectly, although an iPod support option would have been nice.
There are two game modes. Story has you playing through 30 levels, collecting fireflys for points, and you can play previous levels for a better score. In Survival it is a race to keep going up to avoid the rising water. There are a number of achievements to unlock, and leaderboards are accessed via the Plus+ network. This is a great casual play and very addictive.
