Intergalactic epic Rogue Universe flies toward a global release

By , on January 24, 2019

The choice between playing as a space pirate or an intergalactic warlord might be one of the toughest decisions a video game could ask you to make. But that’s exactly the question Rogue Universe will pose to players when it launches onto Google Play and the App Store during the first half of 2019.

At its core, Rogue Universe is a grand strategy MMO that takes its aesthetic from the world of comic books. Building the ultimate fleet might be what you’ll spend most of your time doing, but there are also rare resources to be collected, crew members to be micromanaged, and 3 powerful factions to work with or against.

Incurring the wrath of the Black Flag, U.N.S., or Zurich Bank certainly isn’t a wise move, and so you’re going to have to remain conscious of the ways in which helping out one faction could hinder another. Trying to remain a good guy in all of this might prove to be a little tricky, and, let’s be honest, the pull to become an intergalactic warlord is fairly strong.

Ahead of getting into all that, you’ll first need to build a sizeable fleet of customizable and upgradable ships. And once you’ve amassed enough strength, it’s rather tempting to start bossing other players around, even occasionally evicting them from their bases.

With that being said, sometimes it helps to be friendly. Those who do opt to socialise with others can create or join guilds that can then work together to track down rogue NPCs for big rewards. It’s also important to remember that there’s strength in numbers, and teaming up to annihilate any rival guilds is a great way to earn honour points and special loot.

If you’re the type who’s looking for a story then you’ll likely be drawn toward the ‘Deep Strike’ mode. The focus here is to explore and uncover the backstory and secrets surrounding the mysterious ‘Invaders’.

This one’s flying toward an App Store and Google Play release during the first half of 2019, so you’ll soon be able to live out those space pirate fantasies on the go.
