The stellar open-world skiing title Grand Mountain Adventure has finally mid-air flipped its way onto Android. This one made a sizeable impression at the Big Indie Awards 2018, coming in 3rd place overall, so it’s fair to say that anticipation levels have been high for some time.

Starting out right at the bottom of the Hirschalm ski resort, you’ll be tasked with navigating the open mountain to find ski passes, challenges, and well-hidden secrets. With huge scope for a more meditative, exploration-focused playstyle, this one clearly isn’t just for thrill-seeking sports fans.

That being said, they’ll find plenty to sink their teeth into with the intuitive trick system that allows combos of flips, spins, and rails to be skillfully chained together. The challenges themselves are varied and rewarding, from big air and slopestyle to slalom.

Each of the game’s 5 mountains come with their own set of hazards and stunning details, including avalanches and race-ending rock falls. It’s all tied together by a super clean aesthetic, incredible snow effects, and convincing environmental designs.

In terms of monetisation, the first mountain is available to play for free, though you’ll need to make a one-off payment for the remaining 4. This premium model means no ads and no microtransactions, so it’s a very fair approach.

To take to the slopes and test your mettle, head on over to Google Play now and download Grand Mountain Adventure.
