SOULCALIBUR Unbreakable Soul Review

SOULCALIBUR Unbreakable Soul Review

Soulcalibur Unbreakable Soul is an odd instalment in the Soulcalibur franchise. This mobile, free-to-play game abandons the weapons-based arcade combat for which the series is famous, and instead focuses on the stories of its colourful cast to form the foundation for a collectible card game. In Unbreakable Soul’s defence, the CCG elements have been fairly well though out. You have a deck that can hold three fighter cards, each of which is assigned three weapon card. Each ch…

PAC-MAN DASH! Review

PAC-MAN DASH! Review

You'd be hard pressed to meet someone who hasn't at least heard of Pac-Man. One of the original videogame icons, his legacy persists to this day, largely thanks to his fans, and his revival in games such as Pac-Man Championship Edition. With Sega chucking Sonic onto the auto-runner bandwagon, it's not surpise to see Namco pushing out their spherical star towards the genre. Thing is, while Pac-Man Dash! does approach the genre in an interesting way, it may be too little too late. The a…

SOULCALIBUR Review

It seems as though it was only a matter of time before someone would eventually remind Namco Bandai that they're sitting on a gold-mine. Thanks to iOS releases of Street Fighter and King of Fighters, SoulCalibur has been provided with an opportunity to show off its 3D fighting gameplay on a hand-held platform. While the usual genre concerns with regards to virtual controls remain ever-present, SoulCalibur is still a fantastically fun romp for fans of the series. However before we cont…

KATAMARI Amore Review

KATAMARI Amore Review

Games within the KATAMARI series by Namco Bandai very rarely need an introduction as the setup is quite usually always the same: The King of All Cosmos has his eyes set upon collecting various interesting and wonderful objects from planet Earth and the poor 5cm tall Prince must roll it up in his 'Katamari' to satisfy the King's desire. What makes Amore so exciting is that it's not the first Katamari game to hit the App Store, so expectations are high when you consider how much more raw…

RALLY-X RUMBLE Review

(The App Store is currently not allowing downloads of this App - a video will be made as soon as it's available again.) The original Rally-X was an interesting concept. Let a rally car loose in a maze, where it has to collect all the flags to proceed, while avoiding the evil rally cars chasing it. Now seeming that Namco Bandai are remaking all their arcade classics for the iPhone platform, we have Rally-X Rumble. It's the same game under some new graphical flair, with an emphasis on a…
