A competent effort in creating a fun, motocross game. It's cheap enough to give it a try, but the learning curve with the controls might put off some people.

Moto X Mayhem is a survival racing game where you have to guide your motorbike across a hazardous landscape, reaching the finish line in the quickest time possible. The challenge comes in that even the slightest shift in weight when riding, flying through the air, or landing can result in a deadly spill.

The motorbike is controlled via the touch screen and tilting. The right side of the screen can be pressed for acceleration, the left for brake. Shifting your weight is done by tilting the iPhone left or right. The tilt controls are sensitive, but can be adjusted in the options menu.

The art style is a simple cartoony one, with the biker's limbs being independent of each other, making for some amusing moments when you really crash the bike. There are ambient sounds in the background of the tracks, but no music. Aside from the main mode is a practice mode, in case you're having difficulty in getting through the game with only five lives, though the practice mode has lives too, which was a little confusing.

Despite its learning curve and difficulty, Moto X Mayhem is fun. The crashes are amusing and this reviewer found himself trying the levels over and over again. For those with patience, this game is worth a play.
