  • Super fast loading.
  • Super fast use of all your 10 attempts.

  • No real variation in graphics throughout levels.
  • Gameplay can get repetitive.

VERDICT

It's great when a game can make losing just a fun as winning and Jet Car Stunts is poetry in motion when things go right and prime-time entertainment when they go wrong.  A must have for anyone who loves time-trial games or arcade skill level challenges.

From the land down under comes a time-trial racing game that doesn't just say "How fast can you go?", but "Can you do it without dying a hundred times?". Jet Car Stunts by True Axis combines time-trial racing with insane stunts that will have you laughing in surprise as you triumphantly pull off maneuvers that are difficult, but rewarding to master.

Touch controls and tilting combine to smoothly steer your rocket powered vehicle around each of the 36 tracks currently available. By default the steering is very easy to use, though there are options to change things to your personal liking if required. This comes in handy as your maneuverability is definitely key to the success of your runs as you nimbly arc through the air or loops without issue.

Only two game modes are available, but Open Feint scoreboards will give you an opportunity to duke it out with the best. The game is amazingly fast to load and framerates are kept rock solid thanks to the basic untextured blocks that you drive on. This would be boring to look at normally, but beautiful shading and lighting is used to great effect and give the game a very professional stylized feel.

There's no denying it though, Jet Car Stunts is hard and aims to ensure that you're constantly slipping over the edge into oblivion. Beating a track within the 10 attempt limit can be a trial in itself, but it's one so rewarding you'll slap the "continue" button over and over. A must buy for iPhones and for all time-trial fans.
