Fare City is a management style game where players must direct taxis through the inner city. Players send taxis to pick up clients and drop them off to different destinations in order to earn cash. Soon, the number of clients will increase and so will the amount of taxis you must direct.

You control your taxis by tapping on them and then dragging a path for them to follow. Once they have picked up a client, you must again direct them to their destination. And the faster you are at picking up and dropping off clients, the more cash bonuses you will earn. The controls are simple to use and pretty straight forward for a management type game.

The visuals look good and the vibrant colours of clients help separate an otherwise mundane grey city. And the sound helps players identify new clients and incoming taxis, and players are free to use their iPod during gameplay as well. The game is single player only and features one main mode, but all highscores can be submitted to the global leaderboards.

Fare City is a game for fans of management style games like Flight Control. The line drawing gameplay works well and the taxis are easy to control. The game is limited to one main mode and map, but this isn’t a big enough issue to stop you enjoying it. Fare City is a game that sets up for some solid management gameplay and sure enough, nails it.
