The Geometry Wars look has been popular for many games. With its neon glows and burts of light, it's very visually pleasing. Spirit is a game that utilizes this visual style to put you in the shoes of a ghost wrangler. Yes, a ghost who wrangles, oh, and who doesn't wear shoes.

You control this ghost with your finger, moving him elegantly around the screen. The sensitivity might be a problem for some people, but it is adjustable in the options, and the movement is very fluid regardless. The aim of the game is to run circles around the enemies, creating a black hole that will suck them in. Destroying groups or linking lassos together will boost your score multiplier as you make your way through the waves.

As mentioned, the game uses the visual style made popular by Geometry Wars and it is used well here. The black holes warp the world and the enemies are simple shapes, but all have their own personality. The sound is minimal and spacey, and fits the game well, but your own music can be substituted if you wish. The game features wave after wave that are uniquely generated each playthrough but only features a local highscore board.

Spirit is a fun, simple idea that controls well, and looks fantastic. If you want to have a quick game or continue to beat your personal best, this is a great time waster.
