Cosmo Kid: Bounce the Galaxy!
3 out of 5

PROS

  • Good presentation.
  • Solid control.

CONS

  • Takes a while to learn the game.

VERDICT

Not exactly a Doodle Jump clone, but the same 'how high can you travel' gameplay. Cosmo Kid has enough charm to stand on its own.

  • Full Review

Bounce bounce bounce! Cosmo Kid wants to see the stars and visit far off worlds. With the help of his elastic band and the mysterious but friendly Kukkaja flower people, he might just make it on his journey.

The elastic used to bounce Cosmo into the heavens is drawn on screen with your finger. It can be drawn in a straight line or a curve, which affects the speed and direction of Cosmo depending on how he hit it. The higher you fly, the more Kukkaja you meet. Some are obstacles, but others offer help like rockets or flinging you around.

The art is simple and visually pleasing. The sound effects are humourous and the music adds to the atmosphere. Ipod support is not enabled however. The game contains global leaderboards and facebook and twitter integration.

Cosmo Kid is a fun time waster but has a bit of a learning curve. It's easy for Cosmo to bounce off the screen if your reaction time is slow and it takes a few games to really get the hang of things. Still, this is a well made high score game that should amuse players with its charm.
