Chuck Norris – Bring on the Pain! is a side-scrolling beat ‘em up that not only allows players to control the legend himself, but also documents the real life exploits of Chuck Norris. Yes, it’s all in a day's work for Chuck as he rescues POWs from Cambodia and fights off Communist invaders in the USA. The only difference being that now you’ve come along for the ride.

Players use the on-screen joystick to move Chuck and the punch button to attack. Like other side scrolling beat ‘em ups, you can utilize the environment around you, picking up different objects, such as cars, to use against the enemy. Later in the game, you’ll begin to unlock combos and special moves which you can link together for some devastating attacks.

The visuals themselves are very smooth and look great, but the game also features a fun camera function to post your face onto the enemy trooper’s body. The sound is good but seems a little underused and doesn’t allow any iPod access. There is one main story mode to play through, but a number of mini-games pop up throughout to mix up the core gameplay.

Chuck Norris – Bring on the Pain! is a tongue in cheek tribute to the legend himself while maintaining some solid side-scrolling beat ‘em up gameplay. The game is littered with Chuck Norris facts and incorporates a number of these into the gameplay; such as shooting down a helicopter by pointing his finger and yelling BANG! So if you’re a fan of Chuck Norris, then you’ll have no regrets in purchasing this game.
