NBA LIVE puts players on the court with a number of well know basketball teams as you face off in fierce head to head competition. Featuring a large roster of real NBA teams and players, NBA LIVE not only puts players in the gargantuan shoes of their favourite superstars but also allows them to change rosters and teams to make a fan's ultimate line-up.

The game is controlled using the touch screen's directional pad to move and the two buttons to shoot and pass. There are also a number of other defensive trick moves that can be used by flicking the pass button but you’ll learn all of these advanced moves in the tutorial mode. While the minimal button interface sounds a bit iffy, it works surprisingly well and suits the gameplay perfectly.

The 3D visuals are very well done but some of the detail can be lost when a large group of players gather together. The game sound is superb featuring 15 master tracks from various artists, in game commentary and iPod access as well. The game offers a number of single player modes including Season, Quick play and Playoffs.

For fans of NBA, or basketball in general, this is a must have game. It looks and runs great and players have a ton of options in regards to team customisation and trades. While it is a single player only game, the different modes will certainly keep you busy and give you plenty of replay value. So if you’re looking for a decent basketball game with a well known roster to choose from then NBA LIVE is your game.
