Play Marbles is a version of the classic kids game marbles for the iPhone. The aim of marbles is to knock as many marbles as you can out of the game circle in order to beat your opponent.
You control your shots by tilting the iPhone to move the marble around the circle, using the two buttons on screen to change camera and adjust your direction and flicking the marble to shoot. The controls are simple but they don’t seem all that polished and it can be difficult to line up shots properly.
The 3D visuals look very detailed; especially and the marbles themselves. The sound is decent, but players do not have the option to use their iPod during gameplay. There are a number of gameplay modes available, including single player tournaments, career, quick play and a multiplayer mode.
Play Marbles is a decent enough version of marbles, but unfortunately cannot compete with the wide range of modern games currently available. Marbles, like all fads, tends to come in and out of fashion and just isn’t a big hit in this current technology ruled century. That being said, if you are a fan of marbles, then this game gives you an easier platform on which to play and may just spark your passion for the game. But if the appeal of playing marbles doesn’t grab you, then you might want to try a different game.
