The winter olympics are upon us! For those of you not content to just simply watch the global competition, you can now compete against the computer and friends in RealArcade's official Vancouver 2010 game. You select a character and a nationality and compete in cross country skiing, speed skating, snowboarding, freestyle and biathlon.

The controls are comprised mostly of pressing the large button when it appears on screen. Some games use a timer where you have to press the button just before the timer hits twelve, but all the controls are easily identifiable and work well. Pressing the buttons correctly will usually make you go faster, and missing a press will penalize you time wise.

Visually, the game consists of bright colours and colourful characters. The animation is smooth and the variety in participants is amusing. The sound effects and music are solid but nothing special. You can play the games seperately or all at once by yourself or with other people using pass and play multiplayer.

Vancouver 2010 is a solid mini game title. The controls are simple, the game colourful, and competing with friends is fun. A good entry into the winter olympics mini game genre.
