If you are or were a fan of Hasbro's scoring die game Yahtzee, then EA's iPhone port of Yahtzee Adventures offers a great new way to play an old favourite. The main adventure mode has you playing against various NPCs around the world to hone your Yahtzee skills and try to beat them all.

The controls are well thought out allowing you to shake the iphone to roll the die or simply click the cup to roll them. You then click the die you wish to hold after each roll until you choose your best scoring option on the score card below. If you're unfamiliar with the rules of Yahtzee, there is also a help and tutorial available to teach you how to play.

The game has a simple, polished visual style with basic 2D drawn characters providing your backdrop and opponents for the adventure mode. The audio style provides a nice backdrop which can be substituted for your iPod music if you wish. Whilst the original Yahtzee game mode is available, they also add in some different modes such as Rainbow Yahtzee, Duplicate and Battle mode which offer up some fun variations on the standard game.

Whilst you can look up your game statistics and play multiple players on the same device, there is no online play or scoreboards.

Overall, Yahtzee Adventures is a great remake of a classic game for the iPhone. Fans of the original dice game will find all they need here, as well as some new play options to spice it up a little.
