Tap Tap Ninja Review
- Two gameplay modes with minor variations.
- Unlockable difficulty modes.
- Short repetitive background loop.
- Constant buzzing when at 1 heart left.
Tap Tap Ninja provides a standard endless runner style that's familiar and easy to pick up, but doesn't really shine either.

In the world of Tap Tap Ninja by Square Dimension you'll find yourself sprinting and jumping from platform to platform while avoiding dangerous traps, enemies and environments in order to traverse as far as possible. With two variations of the endless-runner available in this title you could consider it two games for the price of one, but is it worth pulling you away from the many other runner titles available?
The gameplay uses a familiar setup, with your character charging across the screen and leaping at your touch. Holding down will extend the height of his jump and as long as you avoid enemies or traps you'll continually speed up. The free-run mode is similar to Canabalt, with enemies slowing you down after being damaged, however you can only survive three hits in a row before failing. Gem hunter mode removes lives and places gems throughout your run that can be collected to boost your score.
Tap Tap Ninja's graphics look a little odd and seems to use a 3D engine to display the game's various 2D environmental sprites. This makes the background feel dynamic, but the sprites suffer from being reduced in size and have jagged flickering edges. Higher difficulty modes are available to play through, but will require you to cover a lot of cumulative distance to unlock.
Despite other ninja-themed runners being available, Tap Tap Ninja sticks to a fairly standard runner experience that's easy to pick up, but doesn't deviate enough to really pull your attention from other runners you might be playing. A simple runner title for newcomers to the genre.

How far can you go with Tap Tap Ninja?
Tap anywhere on the screen to jump, and tap again while in the air to perform a double jump.
Collect as many gems as you can while avoiding danger. Speed and score multiplier builds up as your ninja runs without hitting obstacles. But be careful! Higher multiplier may give you higher score, but it will be harder to avoid certain death when you run too fast.
