A lot of games that use the iPhone's accelerometer almost sell it short, providing rudimentary controls that feel clunky. Games like Tilt To Live have proven that tilting can in fact be incredibly precise and Superblox by Casual Friday Games has combined speedy, accurate movement controls with a three-match style scoring system to create a game that's frantic and addictive.

The controls are calibrated at the beginning of each game and the sensitivity can be controlled from the options menu. Three games modes are currently available, with Sudden Death pitting players against an increasingly deadly array of enemies; New York Minute places you against the clock to generate the highest score possible; and Beat The Clock requires you to collect extra time to prevent the clock from hitting zero. In each mode you control a block that can connect with smaller blocks that then act as shields, but once three are collected they disappear providing a point bonus. Multipliers can be picked up, but it's the Super Powers that you'll want to make the most of to boost your score.

There are six varieties of cartoonish 'blox' to pick up, each with their own unique style and amusing expressions that spawn randomly as matches are made. Each game mode features a unique background and individual operatic soundtracks that keep the tension high.

Superblox is almost everything you could want out of an endless arcade game, with multiple game modes and addictive gameplay to suit casual players and score-hunters alike.
