In Armageddon from Meridian you'll need to keep your wits about you in order to out muscle and out play your enemies. Why will you need your wits secure? Well like many titles in the army-spawning style of 'strategy' games you'll need to replay levels over and over again in order to mass enough cash to successfully complete future levels and maybe it's just me, but I'm more interested in the campaign, not repeating levels.
Much like other similar titles, you have a slowly rising reserve of energy that can be spent on deploying various units in your arsenal. Each of the units have unique traits which will help you to overcome your enemies army, but often massing units can squeeze you by. Your reserve of energy can be increased at the cost of more power, but doing so also increases how fast the energy is returned, making it a worthwhile investment for large pushes.
Armageddon really shines in the graphical department, but that's no surprise given that this is the same group responsible for titles like Alive 4-ever RETURNS. Versus multiplayer is also available, but only via local network or Bluetooth.
There's no reason not to play on Easy to save yourself a headache unless you're a glutton for punishment or really love these kinds of games. Once things start moving along Armageddon is an intriguing and sometimes surprising campaign and definitely worth checking out if you're after a new action-strategy title.
