Most grannies already have one foot in the grave. One has to wonder if becoming a zombie starts to reverse the aging process. If anything, it might make them more agile in death than they were in life. It's not just grannies that have risen from the grave in this game however. The undead are spreading like a plague, and with a set of well placed fireballs, you can help put them back to rest.

Essentially the game is cut the rope. Each level will have zombies to exterminate and fireballs hanging on strands. Swiping will cut these strands loose which will send the fireballs bouncing down platforms and obliterating any undead they come into contact with. As the game progresses, different fireballs contain different properties, like the blue fireball, which responds to tilting the screen before being cut, or the jumping purple fireball. A well placed cut or bounce could even send one of the stone boulders or wooden crates toppling onto a zombie, which gets the job done as well. Gems are awarded based on how quickly the level is completed, which is less a reward for strategy and more a way to stretch out the gameplay once a player knows how a level works.

The presentation is top notch. The backgrounds, characters, and effects all form to create a cohesive fun visual style, and the music aids this with catchy tunes. Aside from the forty five levels the game also comes with a level editor, so you can  create your own zombie crushing scenarios.

As a Cut the Rope clone, Corpse Granny has the presentation and enough interesting ideas to differentiate itself, but it fails in the most important area, the physics. The swinging and especially the bouncing when a fireball is cut loose just feel too stiff. We know that the undead don't really move all that fast, but it doesn't excuse this oversight. Fans of this style of game might disagree however, and in that case, there's enough here to keep you happy.
