VERDICT

The square stars of Gravity Blocks: The Last Rotation have personality, but the game they inhabit isn't unique or engaging enough to demand your attention for long.

Meet the Gravity Blocks. There's the mint tea-obsessed Henry. There's Dr Zoidblock, who is working on a zombie vaccine. Blockman loves to recycle, while Blox gets a kick out of removing pesky wormholes. Each block appears in his own set of levels in Gravity Blocks: The Last Rotation, a block-puzzler which requires you to guide your square heroes to a goal by playing around with gravity.

Usually you'll find yourself directing the lead block towards a dot on the screen. Other blocks also populate the screeen, and move with the gravity to form an ever-shifting obstacle course.

Each of the hero blocks have their own unique powers. These powers must be harnesses correctly to help clear a path to the exit. For example, Dr. Zoidblock can cure zombie blocks, and needs to get close to infected blocks to inject the antidote. The other blocks have their own problems to face. Radioactive blocks will prevent Henry from acquiring his mint tea, and jelly blocks will absorbing the cans that Blockman is trying to place in the recycle bin.

If you love block sliding puzzle games, you should find some entertainment in Gravity Blocks: The Last Rotation's swipe-based gameplay. Sadly, there's just not enough innovation or charm to hold your attention for very long. In the end, it's a fuctional take on a familiar formula, one which is unlikely to reignite your passion for the genre.
