Graffiti puzzler Vandals imagines tagging as turn-based challenges when it releases on April 12th

Vandals, Cosmografik's follow-up to the puzzle platformer Type:Rider, promises a puzzler revolving around turn-based movement and carefully-planned traversal along grids of enemies, hazards, and power-ups, in the vein of the Go games. But rather than hitmen, AI defenders, or monsters, Vandals is themed around tagging urban settings with graffiti.  Featuring levels in cities ranging from Paris to New York and Berlin, you travel long a grid of paths, each movement causing police and other dangers to move in turn. Hidden Gem of the Week: Five Card Quest

Developer Rocketcat is best known for their popular RPG and action roguelike releases Mage Gauntlet, Wayward Souls, and Death Road To Canada, but amid their larger titles lies a smaller and intriguing outlier of a game, the turn-based minimalist roguelike Five Card Quest. From each warrior’s deck, you choose abilities and attacks, all revolving around the ta…

In your turn-based battles against the forces of chaos, you construct a party from a pool of sorcerers, towering blood knights, hammer-wielding captains, and more, expanding your suite of abilities through leveling up and loot. You’ll need to use every cursed pistol, axe blow, and firebolt to your advantage to survive the grueling hordes of chaos spawn, undead, and bosses lurking in Quest’s torch-lit dungeons.  And with each victory comes new regions an…

Darkest Dungeon reaches Kickstarter goal with 30 days to spare

With 30 days still to go, turn-based strategy game Darkest Dungeon from Red Hook Studios has already reached its Kickstarter goal of $75,000. Currently the turn-based dungeon crawler is destined for PC and Mac. The studio's stretch goals reflect this hardware choice, with additional characters, cinematics, and Steam mod integration all promised if the fund breaks the $500,000 barrier. What is particularly interesting about Darkest Dungeon is its approach dungeon crawling. While the goal will still be to hack your way past the forces of chaos to defeat a timeless evil, you will not be finding shiny weapons and armour to improve your four-person squad. Instead, you will be managing the team'…
