It's not hard to stumble around the iTunes store and find a handful of great castle defense games, but it's somewhat harder to find truly unique variations on the genre. Tiki Smasher by JetFable takes physics based castle defense games in a new direction by using a tilt-controlled pinball to smash against enemies, making their game incredibly simple to play and enjoy.

Several Tiki totems have enlisted your help to defend them from native tribes and animals who are out to destroy them. Your weapon of choice is a boulder sized pinball that you can bounce around the screen to crush enemies. The accelerometer controls are responsive and calibration options are available to make the game playable regardless of your orientation.

Tiki Smasher is bright and uses simple cartoon-ish designs that are unique for each area of the game while keeping with the 'Tiki' theme. Upgrades are available between levels and other than the main weapon and a special ability, there's no new weapons to try out, but with a wide variety of enemies across each area you'll be kept busy learning new strategies to keep your Tiki out of trouble.

Tiki Smasher is a refreshingly simple and unique castle defense style game that's worth checking out if you're a disgruntled fan of the genre out for something new. Casual gamers also won't be disappointed by its easy to pick up gameplay and basic upgrade progression.
