Top 3 iOS Games June 2011
With so many great releases in the last month it’s getting hard to keep up the pace. Instead of the usual end-of-month woe of multiple releases, gamers were inundated by a landslide of two huge bundles of releases. Despite this I’ve been spending all the free time I’ve had while I’ve been ill to start catching up, so expect July’s top list to be a hotly contended one.
With that said today we’ll be covering AppSpy’s Top 3 iOS titles for June 2011
3. Continuity 2: The Continuation (Ragtime Games)
For those who watched our review I have to say I’m still shocked at having missed out on this title in its first incarnation, but I’m also glad I got to play the sequel. Continuity 2: The Continuation strikes a fine balance between fun and frustration, pulling you back in over and over to master its many intriguing levels.
2. Rocket Bunnies (Chillingo)
Honestly, what’s not to love about this over-the-top madcap and fun-loving game. What starts out as a relatively simple matter of jumping between planets becomes an all-out battle to stay alive with split-second reactions quickly determining your success or failure. I might just start being jealous of Android users if this is what they’re getting!
1. Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing (SEGA)
It should really be no surprise that the Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing takes the top slot for this month, but then again solid ‘Kart’ games have always been a rare sort of gem that transcends gaming generations. Although similarly featured to many kart-racing titles, the tight controls balance skill and simplicity, making it perfect for the iOS platform. You know you’re on to a winner when the ability to unlock characters like B.D. Joe from Crazy Taxi comes as almost a bonus.
Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn’t give one last shout-out to Hard Lines by Spilt Milk Studios. ‘Snake’ has been with us on the mobile gaming platform for a LONG time, so managing to not only make it interesting, but hilarious as well makes it well worth checking outl.
