App Wrap Up (Weekend Edition, 10th December 2012)

By , on December 10, 2012

Hey Hey readers, and welcome to another installment of the App Wrap Up! It's been a week or two since last we met, and I have another collection of interesting games that you may have missed that look decent based solely on their trailers. Let's get started!

Linked Together (Idol Minds LLC)

The expansion of the match-3 genre into giant linked chains for massive points is not a new concept, so what is it about this trailer that resonates? Is it the 'in your face' presentation, or is it the emphasis on multiplayer and a slew of intesting power ups? Whatever the reason, this does look like a lot of fun.

Jellboy (CORVUS GAMES)

You've seen those youtube videos about Human Tetris? Well here we have a game based on gelatin tetris. While it might be a little frustrating forming the creature into the mold you want, the presentation and concept look solid enough to make this worth a go.

Star Splitter 3D (StepGames Inc.)

I must admit not too much stands out about this particular game, but it's a space shooter, a genre from my past that I love, and it looks like a solid enough space shooter, so that's got to count for something!

Dream of Pixels (Dawn of Play)

Kind of reverse Tetris, but then with its 5 game modes changing up the formula, not really. It has a very dreamlike quality to the presenation, that judging by the name was intentional. Looks relaxing and interesting.

Zen Shapes: The way of the Brush (dreamfab GmbH & Co. KG)

An odd trailer to be sure, but it looks like it's primarily using Pipe Dream mechanics to create shapes. It certainly has an eclectric mix of styles, so much so that I'm not really sure what to make of it after that trailer...

And that's it for another installment. If you've played any of these games or these trailers have piqued your interest, let us know what you think in the comments. Till next time, enjoy your gaming!
