App Wrap Up (Weekend Edition, 13 August 2012)

By , on August 13, 2012

Well it's the start of the week and what we have for you is another edition of the App Wrap Up! As always we are evaluating these games based on their trailers, and they have been featured here because something about them looks interesting. If you've played any of these titles, please let everyone know your thoughts down in the comments. Let's do this!

Gas Tycoon 3 (LEMICO Soft)

A Pipe Dreams style of game with a level editor and easy access share system. It looks like that game has a little bit of style to boot. For those not yet tired of this genre since its resergence on mobile devices, this could be a good pick just based on the breadth of content.

iSpherical - Wizard's Journey (Stefan Preuß)

This was added because it reminds me of the shareware puzzle games that publishers like Apogee would release in the early 90s. A little bit puzzle, a little bit action... it might be too slow paced for some but the levels look interesting, and seem to be enclosed in their own micro Bubble Bobble type worlds.

Killer Bean Unleashed (Killer Bean Studios, LLC)

For those of you not familiar with the Killer Bean animations, head over to youtube to see what they're all about. As for the game, well aside from the visuals, it looks like a pretty standard run and gun platformer. There are plenty of explosions however, and that always has to count for something!

Dynamite Jack (Phil Hassey)

Definitely inspired by Bomberman, this takes the concept and plops you in a network of maze-like levels with some pretty cool coloured lighting. There also seems to be a stealth element to avoiding guards (or at least tricking them).

Break Blocks Touch! (Greater Good Games, LLC.)

Part match three, part Breakout, part rhythm & dance game. It's hard to tell what to make of this just from the trailer. It is definitely a unique combination and perhaps that alone is worth a purchase.

Well that's it for another installement. Tune in next time, same app site, same app column!
