App Wrap Up (Week Ending, 31st August 2012)

By , on September 1, 2012

Howdy Ho Neighbourinos. It's the end of the week, the end of August, and time for another segment of the App Wrap Up! As always, the apps we feature here are here based on their trailers alone, as they look interesting enough to warrant potential further investigation. If you try anything out, be sure to tell us what you think in the comments. And now, on with the show!

Rbots (a10.com)

A disembodied robot head, magnets, and puzzle physics platforming. It touts single touch gameplay, but whether or not it's implemented well, well that remains to be seen.

Goal Defense (Dynamic Pixels)

A sports themed tower defense title. As TD games go, it looks pretty standard, but the unique premise may be enough to make it enjoyable.

Boom Land (Mirage-lab)

Games where you demolish things are always entertaining, and Boom Land looks like no exception. You have to reach a certain threshold of destruction with the explosives at your disposal and then you get to watch things crumble and fly. As long as the structures are interestingly designed, this should be a lot of fun.

Well it's a short one this week. Seeing all the big studios are releasing their games, a lot of developers might not want to get lost in the shuffle so the releases might be more scarce. Scarcity or not, we'll still strive to keep the App Wrap Up going with games that might have missed the radar of most. Till next time!
