Legitimately the best app game I’ve ever had

I, like many other reviewers, grew up playing multitasking simulation games like Diner Dash. I have searched high and low for a similar game to come to mobile and none so far had the same feel. For one, they still were made with kids in mind, which I can understand. For two, the money grabbing antics of phone app games were ever-present. This game changes all that. You have a decent amount of energy to use so you can play levels, there’s NEVER any pressure or need to buy gems (!!!!!), the storyline is actually interesting and involves adult themes like grief, death, mental illness, addiction, etc. so it is stimulating instead of just “oh no big bad man wants my hospital, must stop”. Truly this game is incredible and very high quality. I purchased the energy packs in the game because I was having so much fun and because I really wanted to support the company. This is a game I would’ve not felt bad at all for paying $30 on PC for, so I don’t on mobile either, and it’s literally FREE if you don’t want to pay. Highly recommend!!! I’m 2/3 of the way through 5 starring all the levels while waiting for the newest ones to be released.

I liked the new style

Now I (as many of the other reviewers) am a HUGE fan of gamehouse, I used to download all of their games on Bigfish as a kid and got really hooked. As an adult playing, a lot of the levels are a breeze and it doesn’t take me much time to finish any of the games with 3 stars each level. Now with the new design I liked how it was challenging. A lot of the levels I had to replay several times to get the full 5 stars I wanted each level, and with the time it took for the energy rebuild it would force me to put my phone down and focus on another task until a couple hours passed by. I did not pay anything to complete the game but it did take some time and patience. So what? It was frustrating at first to not have everything NOW but in the long run I liked how it took awhile to complete each level and unlock all of the upgrades. It was new from the regular easy game style that’s usually presented. Since I do have the Gamehouse App, it looks like a similar style is going to be applied to the new Parker&Lane game as well and I really can’t wait! The only reason I didn’t give it a full five stars is because I like selecting which upgrades I would like and we didn’t really have too much information on what upgrades were available, you would just have to see what was in the chest and go from there. Other than that, it was an awesome change from the regular gameplay and I really enjoyed the layout and the challenges 😁

Great game, but please more story

I got this game when it first came out because I’m a fan of the Blue Giraffe games - especially Dr. Heart’s. I was willing to pay for the game, because the previous Allison games were such quality, but was dismayed when I saw that there were energy limits which restricted my playing. But I got over that, and enjoyed all of the 60 levels and side challenges available.

Imagine how happy I was when I learned there was an update, and more levels to play - and then the internal groan when I saw there were no new plot levels, and only challenge levels - and even those levels unlocked one at a time because you have to get enough puzzle pieces (usually 20 or more) to unlock the next bit of plot and one (1) more challenge level. That being coupled with puzzle pieces being rare late-game, and effectively relying on Daily Challenges to earn has made my opinion of the game fall. I would honestly prefer the developers make more plot-based levels (like the first 6 “worlds”) which would take longer to update, but would still preserve the game quality (again, all in my opinion), than the current method.

TL;DR: The first 6 “worlds” (60 levels) are great, and offer many fun challenges and rewards. From then on it’s painstakingly slow progress through the game, which takes a star from me.

Developer Response ,

Thanks for leaving us a review. We are trying something new with this style of game. Our story telling is still the same but we want to share more within the game. We hope you can give it another go. Oliver has new friends as well. 🙂
