FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Why should I write my notes in Markdown?
A: Markdown is a widely popular open format with support in many applications. By choosing Markdown you can be confident if you decide to switch to a different application you can easily move all of your data without any conversion needed. Also, Markdown is incredibly easy to understand even in raw view as it's just plain text content with human-readable syntax. Last but not least, Markdown helps you to keep all of your notes in a uniform format, with no more mismatches in font size, font face, etc. when you import data from different sources.

Q: What are the benefits of using Git to store notes?
A: You will get a lot of things for free:
• Unlimited version history, and information on when and who did what changes
• Ability to share notebooks with others, you can add anyone as a collaborator or viewer to your Git repository
• Easy self-hosting with plenty open open-source options, so notes will truly belong to you
• Better merge conflict resolution compared to traditional cloud-based file storage solutions
• Ability to create public websites/blogs from your notebooks

Awesome application, great support!

Having spent far too much time over the years trying out all the various notes/pkm applications only to be disappointed, I finally found the perfect application.

NotesHub scratches all the right itches:

- Simple one-time pricing
- Offline mode
- Multi-platform
- Git synch (built-in, even from mobile platforms)
- Great UI (with support for popular markdown extensions)

The support has been great too. I had a small issue and posted my problem in the Reddit sub for the product. The developer quickly replied with suggestions and insights and helped to zoom in on the problem, and even posted a new version to fix the problem the same day.

If you are looking to publish your notes as a digital garden, blog or another type of website, markdown files and Git integration make it really easy to use any of the dozens of static website generators. I use use VitePress and was able to get a site published in an hour.

I am so grateful to the developer for creating this amazing application. It just works! No fuss, no muss!

Great app by an awesome up and coming dev

Simplicity - super underrated quality with todays apps. Most are full of distraction and clutter toting a bunch of features that you’ll never use. Well this app gives you the freedom of syncing with a private GitHub repo meaning free storage that doesn’t live in your phone or on your limited cloud.

The dev responds to issues questions and concerns so quickly. The app works perfectly too. When it first was released, I reported a minor bug and it was fixed before I woke up the very next day. Never had a better experience with support for different apps.

GitHub integration makes this a game changer

I manage a group of volunteers for a non profit and they recently came to me and said they wanted to start blogging on the website. We use Cloudflare and static pages so this meant integrating into the JAMStack. With the GitHub integration this became possible for the non-technical volunteers.

What even better? They can insert pictures and they also upload to GitHub and link properly. Looks right on the website, looks right on this app.

Developer Response ,

Thank you so much for your review. We are glad to hear that NotesHub is helping people. We want to add that we are exploring even deeper integration with GitHub which would allow managing collaborators for notebooks (GitHub repositories) right from the application.
