4 reasons why Red Dead Redemption 2 would be better on mobile than console

Remember Red Dead Redemption? The horribly overrated open world game released in 2010 that was basically Grand Theft Auto but not as good?

Well it looks like we'll soon be forced to endure a sequel. Developer Rockstar is teasing what looks like a second (alright, technically third) entry in the Red Dead franchise.

So far we have the R* logo on a red background, and more recently a picture of seven men walking towards us at sunset.

Not exactly conclusive evidence, but it's hard to imagine this indicating anything else.

Let's take the plunge and take the torment as read - let's imagine there really is a Red Dead game coming next year. Wouldn't it be better on mobile? You don't agree? Then check out why it really would be better on iOS and Android.

1. You'd be able to take it anywhere

 Rockstar

Pretty obvious, this one. It would be more convenient to have Red Dead Redemption 2 (or whatever it ends up being called) on your phone. That's not necessarily a good thing though. I mean, if RDR2 is as bad as it's predecessor then I'd rather not be playing it.

2. It'll be on a smaller screen

Phone screens are what, five inches? Compare that to the 30 inch behemoth you have in your living room, and that's one hell of a downgrade. Which is exactly why Red Dead 2 should be on mobile, because then I won't have to look at as much of it.

If it's on my PS4 or Xbox One, that's almost a home cinema's worth of screen and eye space taken up by yet another horse sanctuary.

Just stick it on my iPhone, however, and it's only a little section of my vision being assaulted. Everyone's a winner!

3. It'll be cheaper

 Red Dead Redemption 2?

Mobile games are almost always cheaper than console games. Unless you're a Football Manager fan, of course.

This is good news for everyone really, since a mobile Red Dead would likely be significantly cheaper than any console version - and might even be free!

It's especially good news as the game will of course be terrible, so it being free means no wasted money. I mean I'll quite happily fork out £40 on a game I enjoy, but not on this Red Dead Redemption rubbish. You'll even struggle to get me to play it for free to be honest.

4. There could be microtransactions!

The best bit about Red Dead Redemption 2 being a mobile exclusive? It'll have microtransactions!

And who doesn't love those? ;)
