But since you're never going to get space yourself, we thought we'd take a look at the best science-fiction games for mobile.

The best Star Wars game there is. Come at me with your X-wings and your Rogue Squadrons, and I'll just laugh you away. This is a deep, compelling RPG set a long time ago before the events of the original Star Wars films. It's filled with incredible characters, amazing combat, and stunning locations.

A game about being lost in space. You're an astronaut trapped on the wrong side of the universe, trying to solve the strange riddle of existence and, more importantly, stay alive. It's dark at times, bright at others, and really rams home what it must be like to be on your own in the vastness of the cosmos.

This one takes a lot of its cues from No Man's Sky, but tightens its focus, and wraps everything up in a story that's a little less convoluted. There are also giant space dragons to try and take down, and you can't say that about many other games. Morphite manages to be both tight and vast, which is some achievement.

A puzzle game set on a dying world. As you might be able to figure out from the title, it's about getting one of the last tickets back home. There's some brilliant combat here, all built around an intriguing match-stuff system that's not like anything else on the App Store. Thoughtful and challenging, this one's well worth checking out.
