Hands-on with Wars and Battles, in which hex-based strategy war gaming is actually way more entertaining than it sounds

These super involved strategy games that play out on hexagonal tiles are often a real drag, and I just can't find much energy to get into them. But Wars and Battles is a bit different.

It's no less serious and po-faced than the other games on the market, but once you've got the hang of the simple controls, you stop faffing about fiddling and instead start thinking tactically about your approach to the varied situations you're given.

Wars and Battles is pretty cool by my book, here's what it looks like in motion.
