Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is the most-watched esport of 2025 so far
When people think of the largest esports in the scene, they probably think of League of Legends, Dota 2, Counter-Strike 2, maybe even VALORANT. But us mobile fans should be proud: It's actually Mobile Legends: Bang Bang!
Esports Charts follows viewership quite closely, and it found that Q2 of 2025 was clearly MLBB's year.
MLBB esports continues to expand
In Q2 of 2025, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang became the world's most popular esports title if we're going by viewership. It had more than 4.1 million peak concurrent viewers, surpassing every other game with ease. The second-most-watched esport was League of Legends, with nearly 1.57 million peak views. Not even close.MLBB launched in 2017 and became an almost insant hit in Southeast Asia. It's been the top-grossing mobile game in the region in terms of popularity and revenue. But over the past nine years, MLBB's fandom has stretched beyond Southeast Asia.
This is in part thanks to the esports scene, with big tournaments like the M Series World Championship growing in viewership every year. This year is expected to be the largest MLBB esports event yet, following a successful Esports World Cup.
Esports organizations around the world have been taking notice. For example, Team Liquid has invested in a MLBB scene, signing a squad from the Philippines. Why? The esports world can sense that the tide is changing: Mobile esports are going to eventually dominate.
