ByteDance is reportedly considering the sale of MOONTON to Saudi Arabia's Savvy Games Group. This would make Mobile Legends: Bang Bang owned by a Saudi Arabian company.

The report, which comes from Reuters, claims that the deal is valued between $6 billion and $7 billion.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang's strong presence in Saudi Arabia

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is one of the most popular MOBA titles on mobile, with its M7 World Championship being the fourth most-watched esports event in history. That popularity was highlighted during the last Esports World Cup - run by the Esports World Cup Foundation and funded by the Saudi Arabian government - where the MLBB tournament reportedly made up about one-third of the massive seven-week esport events' views.

MLBB is also returning to the Esports World Cup in 2026 and it was the first title to be announced at the EWCF's first Esports Nations Cup later this year.

Meanwhile, Savvy Games Group has been continuing its expansion in the esports industry. It acquired various gaming developers in the past and has invested in tournaments. It's also partnered with King Abdulaziz University to grow its esports training program.

Right now, Savvy Games Group and MOONTON have yet to comment on this rumored deal. It's unclear what this would mean for MLBB and its esports scene going forward.
