Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia has announced the Season 16 Awards, including a new category. 

After Week 3 of the MPL Malaysia season wrapped up, MOONTON Games announced the Season 16 awards, which will honor the esports scene's pros, talent, media, and stakeholders. This includes a new award: "2025 Media - Best Content Award," which will highlight the best stories from the season. 

"This season's Awards are a tribute to the incredible players, talents, and fans; over the past eight years, they have helped shape this community into the national entertainment behemoth we know and love today," said Krystal Tan, Head of Business Development for Malaysia Esports at MOONTON.

"But the Season 16 Awards are extra significant because it also marks the last chapter before we move on to the 'enhanced franchise format.' This year's winners will carry a special legacy, remembered not only for their excellence, but also for closing an important era in Malaysian esports history."

Season 16 Awards

 Here are all of the categories in the Season 16 Awards: 

  • Talent of the Season (40% audience, 60% Award Committee)
  • Rookie of the Season (top five selected based on in-game ratings)
  • Regular Season MVP
  • Finals MVP
  • Most Improved Player (40% audience, 60% Award Committee)
  • Gameplay of the Season (40% audience, 60% Award Committee)
  • Dream Team Award: Best EXP Laner (")
  • Dream Team Award: Best Gold Laner (")
  • Dream Team Award: Best Mid Laner (")
  • Dream Team Award: Best Roamer (")
  • Dream Team Award: Best Jungler (")
  • Dream Team Award: Best Coach (")
  • Fan Club of the Season (40% offline attendees, 60% online viewership) 
  • Restreamer of the Season (20% online viewership, 20% contribution to MLBB, 20% audience vote, 40% Award Committee) 
  • 2025 Legenda Award (40% audience, 60% Award Committee) 
  • 2025 Media - Best Content Award (gold, silver, bronze)

 Winners will be chosen a variety of ways, with each category having its own criteria. As you can see, there will be an Awards Committee, which includes MPL Malaysia officials, talents, media, and even team captains and coaches.
