Monster Trucks Nitro 2 Review

Yeeehaw! I lurves me some Monster Trucks! But in all seriousness, who doesn't get a little bit excited by these oversized vehicular behemoths and their destructive powers? Maybe you've never thought about it, but Monster Trucks Nitro 2 by RedLynx will make a believer of you as you flip, boost and smash your way to first place in this side-scrolling tilt racer.

Once you've signed yourself up to a race you're slapped straight down in to a side-on view of your beastly ride. Acceleration is controlled through a slide bar at the bottom of the screen, but for the most part you'll want to keep it stuck on a suicidal 'pedal to the metal' full throttle. Tilting is used to change your vehicles balance, helping you to maintain grip or perform flips for bonus nitro boosts. Each of the vehicles in the game has a unique feel and will take some getting used to, but with each level having three ranks to complete you'll quickly become a master at each of the metal demons.

Low texture and model details keep the game's install size small, but varied environments and level design keep the experience fresh. There's little realism to be had with the loose physics and a lot of management is required to keep some cars in check, but it never breaks the roller-coaster mood of blasting your way to the finish line.

Monster Trucks Nitro 2 is a whole scooping of fun and definitely a must try for anyone's iDevice.
