Stave Studios' Over the Alps is set to receive another sizeable update that aims to improve the game's police pursuit system. This follows on from the arrival of its King of the Mountain expansion earlier this month.

For those not in the know, this one's a mobile-friendly adventure game where you'll travel across pre-WWII Switzerland while attempting to outwit the authorities and cement yourself as a British superspy. Inspired by Hitchcock's thrillers, it's one of Apple Arcade's best-written and most stylish games.

A Test of Character is the name of its latest update, and it's currently planned to arrive this August. A full list of improvements can be seen right here, but the gist is that the system is being fleshed out and made a bit easier to understand.

Complications will arise that block your progress until you use one of your traits to overcome whatever situation you find yourself in. Routes all have different risk levels, and you can expect to encounter more issues when moving through higher-level areas. Failing to successfully beat the complication will leave a footprint for police to follow.

You'll also be able to view all the info that the police currently have on you, including how hot on your tail they might be.

The game's roadmap shows two more updates are planned beyond August, including a story expansion. If you're yet to give Over the Alps a go, I'd strongly recommend that you fix that ASAP and download it from over on the App Store or Steam.
