Brawhalla was originally intended to launch for iOS and Android this Thursday, August 6th, though it suddenly appeared on Google Play earlier today. This was first spotted by Android Police.

The game is a platform arena brawler in the vein of Nintendo's Smash Bros. series. The difference here is that it's free to play and boasts a huge roster of pop culture characters from a variety of properties, from Adventure Time to the WWE. It currently boasts 50+ playable characters and a host of distinct modes.

It's a good time, all told, and it's improved significantly since arriving on the scene in 2014. I also feel that it does more than enough to escape the shadow of Smash.

If you fancy giving it a go, you'll find Brawlhalla available for download now as a free-to-play game from over on Google Play. Its iOS port should arrive in the next day or two.
