Genshin Impact, the popular gacha RPG from miHoYo, is getting a big new update next week on 11th November.

The update, called ‘A New Star Approaches’, introduces a bunch of new quests to complete, as well as a seasonal event and four additional playable characters.

While there are many new quests being added to the game, most notably is the addition of the Liyue chapter’s grand finale in the main storyline. This also coincides with the game’s first seasonal event called ‘Unreconciled Stars’. This lasts for two weeks and sees players finishing a series of quests and co-op challenges to earn new rewards.

A reputation system is also being added to Genshin Impact, which will apply to each city you visit. As your relationship with each region grows, you’ll be able to unlock various rewards, including region-specific items and new tools such as a portable stove, waypoint, and treasure compass to ensure your adventures become much more coherent.

New 5-star characters being added to Genshin Impact include Childe, who is a hydro archer who switches between melee and ranged combat, and Zhongli, a geo polearm user who petrifies enemies with their area of effect damage abilities. The other two characters, called Diona and Xinyan, are both 4-star and they bring new opportunities to unite your elemental combos and combat tactics.

In Genshin Impact, you enter Teyvat, a vast world teeming with life and flowing with elemental forces. Inspired by console games such as Ni No Kuni and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the game allows you to climb any mountain, swim across any river, and glide over the world below, taking in the stunning landscapes every step of the way.

You can download Genshin Impact from the iOS App Store or Google Play for Android. It’s a free to play game with in-app purchases.
