Blue Wizard Digital has released Slashy Camp, a new endless runner inspired by ‘80s slasher movies on iOS and Android after a period of early access.

Slashy Camp has you swiping on the screen to move a serial killer called Skullface around a scrolling grid in search of campers to kill.

But be careful, because every stage also features hazards such as campfires, bottomless lakes, spike traps and landmines to avoid. But you can also turn these around for your own advantage by scaring campers onto those squares for extra points.

The game is described by Blue Wizard Digital as “a horrific new love-child between Crossy Road and 1980s horror movies.” It’s interesting to note Blue Wizard has also had previous experience with these themes in their previous games Slayaway Camp and Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle.

The sliding-puzzle aspects of these previous games have also been brought back to Slashy Camp as a way to boost your score, meaning you can choose to do that or slice through every camper in your path if you’d prefer.

You gain experience points and new levels as you keep playing, which helps to unlock new playable characters inspired by classic horror villains such as Wolfman, Slime Monster, Vampire and Fishman.

There are also different weapons to use that you can pick up on each run to diversify your murder spree, with such examples as a chainsaw, machete and a fish.

You can download Slashy Camp now from the iOS App Store and the Google Play for Android store, where it is a free to play game that contains adverts and in app purchases.
