The award-winning adventure game Sumire has made its way to mobile devices after its Nintendo Switch and Steam release last year. Released to critical acclaim, and with the Switch version earning a 86 rating on Metacritic, Sumire has already received some nods from the industry, including a nomination for Best Indie Developer at the Pocket Gamer Mobile Games Awards 2022.

Sumire follows the story of a young girl, also named Sumire, who is on an emotional journey to reunite with the spirit of her grandmother. Set in mystical Japan, players are tasked to “live a perfect day” and experience a story based around love and connection, with the events unfolding over a single day. As Sumire journeys across the land, there are irreversible choices to be made that will affect the course of the game, such as choosing whether to accept characters' calls for help or just walk by. As the day progresses players will be locked onto their path and lose the opportunity to interact with certain characters and quests, creating a unique story per playthrough.

Along with the captivating story, Sumire features some truly astonishing graphics which are further enhanced by mobile devices' high-resolution screens. Featuring a fairly simplistic but by no means beautiful, almost hand-drawn art style coupled with an enchanting musical score, Sumire really grabs and immerses the player in a truly stunning world. The mobile version also adds new features to the game, allowing players to “share wishes, dreams and heartfelt needs”.

Sumire is developed by GameTomo, an indie company based in Tokyo with a worldwide reach that develops, localizes and publishes titles for the Japanese market. They have already worked on notable titles such as Cuphead, Superhot and Lost Ember, as well as launching their following to 2017 Project Nimbus, Nimbus Infinity, into Early Access.

Sumire is available to download from the App Store now for $5.99. The android version is not yet available as of the time of publishing, however, there is a pre-registration to sign up for on Google Play.
