Development for NetEase Games ambitious looking project Once Human is well underway, and today, the team has released a few more scraps of information for all to fawn over. With a deeper look at the building system and a look at some monster lore, the hype will be building for the new weird sandbox survival game.

The world of Once Human is filled with constant danger, with trouble coming from every possible direction and source. This includes monsters coming from other dimensions as is the case with the Arachsiam. An arachnophobe's worst friend, the Arachsiam is a giant spider, one of the most daunting monsters to face in the game as well as being extremely cunning.

As one of the toughest monsters to face, the Archsiam looks just about as vicious as it is to battle. Wearing the skull of a human it has once vanquished and with the ability to paralyze its prey, the overgrown spider is a behemoth to face in battle. It might be advisable to stay away from the caves it calls its home until players are ready for a few nightmares.

The sight of such a beast will likely leave players with a sudden urge to never leave their home, however with the Once Humans building system that is not a terribly bad thing. The development team are focusing on a high degree of freedom for it, with any territory being a viable location such as deserts, mountains and forests.

A host of new DIY options have been added to allow players even more options to strike the architectural fire. There are now three different sets of building structures with unique materials to choose from, ranging from quaint wooden cabins with a weekend getaway feel, all the way to the get-out and stay-out vibes of an aluminian safe house.

Whilst bases can be improved and upgraded, a sustained assault will shatter any wall. As such, Once Human introduced defensive options for building. From structures that offer cover in firefights up to turrets that bring the fire to the fight, fortifying territories with enough of these will stop any enemy in their tracks.

Once Human is under development as of yet has no release date, however, NetEase has suggested a new beta test will be ready in a few months. Players can pre-register on the official site to keep up to date with news.
