It is time to celebrate New Year’s in August with the latest event from mobile RPG Blue Archive. No amount of Google searches could yield exactly which New Year's Nexon is celebrating, however with the rewards on offer it's a calendar mishap to let slide.

This new story event is called “New Year’s Rhapsody Np. 68” and focuses on members of the Problem Solver 68 group. As these students visit the New Year’s Event Plaza to celebrate the new year in Kivotos, an unexpected incident arises to ruin the fun. It is up to players to assist the students in solving the issue, grabbing some nice rewards on the way.

The biggest addition in this update has to be the inclusion of two new characters, Aru (New Year) and Mutsuki (New Year) from Problem Solver 68. Both these characters are strikers that deal damage from the back row at range. Arus’ EX skill allows her to obtain 1 Skill Cost per evil deed and deals piercing damage to one enemy, which will then bounce a maximum of 11 times around enemies for some tasty sounding damage. Mutuski on the other hand can use her EX skill to deal mystic damage to enemies in an arch-shaped area.

In addition to the characters and story, Nexon has added 15 different New Year-themed furniture items to play with. These include the New Year Pattern Background and the New Year Releazing Kotatsu. As an added treat, players will receive 1,200 Pyroxrne just by logging in before the August 16th and will be awarded a New Year’s Lucky Puch for completing the event story. This can then be exchanged for items such as Mustuki’s Elpeh and Kayoko’s Eleph until the end of the month.
