A new collaboration has been confirmed for gacha RPG Nier Reincarnation. Speaking at the 11th live stream of the aforementioned game, Square Enix and developers Applibot have announced that smash hit RPG Persona 5 Royal will be showing up in the weird and wonderful world of prolific oddball Yoko Taro.

As part of this new collaboration, Persona 5 Royal protagonist Joker and teammate Makoto Niijima, aka Queen, will be available to draw in a special gacha. It is also confirmed that a collaboration quest entitled Record: Phantom of the Rebellion will be available until October 13th and will give the chance to recruit Yusuke Kitagawa, also known as Fox, to complete the Persona Trio, as well as gaining the limited time Katana Weapon.

The scenario will involve quests that feature both the Phantom Thieves and characters from Nier Reincarnation and will feature some changes to act as a homage to Person 5 Royal. The background music will change to be themed after the game, and visual effects will be added to honour Persona, such as the iconic cut-ins.

When discussing the story of the collaboration during the live stream scenario writer Yuki Wada stated that as a fan of Persona 4 Royal, he was honoured to collaborate with a game he has planned and is looking forward to the collaboration from a user’s point of view.

Drawing attention to the collaboration announcement trailer, Wada pointed out that the female high school student that appears is a side character in Nier Reincarnation. As she has not been implemented in the gacha draws or in an even scenario, Wada is excited for users to be able to dig deeper into her background.

This collaboration will kick off on October 8th, with Nier Reincarnation being available to download on both the App Store and Google Play.
