Season 5 has kicked off in NetEase Games' popular Doomsday Survival Game LifeAfter, offering a massive new array of content. Power of Mutation as it is named brings with it a whole new area and some massive changes to combat, including a new combat profession.

With the update, you will be able to explore the mysterious Ark City in the middle of the sea and meet the new Ark Knights led by Fred who guards the city. The Knights managed to catch the dormant Third Source and learned how to turn its secreted Mutation Liquid into energy, prompting technological breakthroughs. This came at a cost, though, drawing many infected to the city. What's worse is that the Third Source occasionally enters the Infection Tide state, drawing massive armies of Infected to it. Should you choose to help, it will be up to you to help combat this problem, and hopefully, protect the citizens.

There are some exciting changes in the gameplay with the new weapon system and profession to tackle the unknown with. Every class will be able to take advantage of the Mutation Core, a weapon add-on that will give you the ability to combat the new infection. It allows firearms to take on different attack properties as the situation demands it. That Spore infected charging you? A flaming bullet will take care of it, or that beefy indestructible Rock Infected's shield can be completely nullified by an electromagnetic shot.

If you want even more newness in your combat, try the new Ark Knight profession that weaponises the Power of Mutation. The core talent is called Mutation Resonance, which provides damage bonuses to weapons equipped with the Mutation Core. A weapon's Resonance will accumulate through dealing and taking damage, with a max Resonance turning your next reload to a Resonated Reload, giving the gun resonated rounds with a damage bonus. If that resonates with you, take full advantage of the free Cert Reset Ticket everyone will be gifted upon the update.

The Crystal Hunt stage has also started, tasking teams of four to amplify Ark City’s Source signal by turning on the Enhancer to locate the important energy matter, Prime Crystal. There will be a variety of enemies to battle, puzzles to solve and parkour to accidentally struggle over across 5 levels, with the random combinations offering unique runs each time.

LifeAfter is available to download now on the App Store and Google Play.
