Indie developers Team Terrible has announced a release date for the latest major patch for the hit horror game The Baby in Yellow. Dubbed The Black Cat, this eagerly awaited update will launch on May 26th and will continue the main story after the mysterious cliffhanger of the previous expansion.

For those who haven’t played The Baby in Yellow, it has proven to be a runaway hit. You are placed in the shoes of a babysitter tasked with caring for a small human in the eponymous yellow garments. Following what should be simple tasks such as feeding or changing the child are hampered by the supernatural goings-on that seems to happen around the infant, yet you continue to look after them—got to get paid somehow.

The sudden appearance of a black cat got the player base speculating on its relevance to the overall story. There has been little direct interaction, however, it does bear a striking resemblance to the trapped souls you can find as you venture through babysitting. This upcoming Black Cat update is bound to shed a bit of light on this unusual entity, although it would be rather funny if they don’t mention it at all with a title like this.

The climax of the latest story saw you teleported into a strange and unusual world, as you followed the black cat through a portal to escape the rampaging baby. To help navigate through the new world, you will team up with a robotic companion named Newt as you solve puzzles to learn about The Baby’s dark origins. But, it couldn’t be that easy, as The Baby is stalking you every step of the way, so keep your wits about you.
