You might have noticed that the 2024 Summer Olympics are in full swing, and like me, you may be feeling equal parts amazed and in awe of these superhumans. We might not be able to complete a Triathlon or even a Monothlon, but you can feel like it with the new Netflix game; Sports Sports.

We have been spoilt in recent years with realistic gameplay and in-depth career modes, at least in some titles, but Sports Sports doesn't offer any of this. Instead, you create your own little pixel athlete, and let them lose in some retro-inspired sports fun. It is simple, straightforward, and delightful.

You can virtually take part in twelve different sports, comprising track and field events, swimming, archery, and weightlifting. Some of you might be thinking but the Olympics has been on for days, surely more sports exist! Well, settle down, because Netflix has said there are more to come. Vague, vague promises.

Of course, most of the fun of being in the Olympics is beating all the other uber-fit humans and rubbing the gold medal in their faces, I’m guessing. Well, you can do that here too by jumping into some competitive online Ranked Matches or taking on your friends in local multiplayer.

Each time you play you will be earning points to secure your place in the global rankings. You can also make your own customised programs by putting together a playlist of your favourite sports. Keep pushing to break their records, track your lifetime stats, and see how many of those delicious virtual medals you can stack up.

Sports Sports is available to download from the App Store and Google Play now. Of course, being a Netflix game, you will also need to be subscribed to the platform, with the cheapest plan being $6.99. But you get some cool games out of it, and some TV too I guess.
