Wonderful starship rougelike FTL: Faster Than Light has finally made its way from PC to the iPad, where it will be landing on the App Store at midnight tonight.

For those of you unaware of the Kickstarter success that is Subset Games's FTL: Faster Than Light, it's a rougelike that casts you as a starship captain being pursued through space.

Warping haphazardly from point to point, you can never be certain whether you are about encounter friendly aliens who will offer to repair your beaten ship, or a barrage as meteors that will destroy what remains of your shields.

You have to manage your resources, prioritising what perks to construct and which items to repair at each stage of your journey. But, as all of the challenges are randomly generated, you never know whether your choices will pay off in the long run, even when playing through a second time.

The iPad version includes the Advanced Edition upgrade. This brings with it even more content, including a whole new species of alien, and extra weapons with which to battle them.

FTL: Faster Than Light will hit the App Store at midnight tonight, where you can pick it up for iPad for £6.99 / $9.99.
