Space farming! Oh no, we're not talking about mining asteroids, or growing some kind of moon cheese, but a farming simulator... in space! Astro Ranch has your farmer crashlanding on an alien planet, who then has to harvest crops and lifestock to earn enough money to repair their shuttle and send them home.

Everything is done by the touch of a finger. Walking, selecting farming implements, buying new seeds, and equipment, and even talking to the locals. When you start off, you don't have much at your disposal, but as your farm grows, so will your options (just be sure to keep an eye on stock prices to earn the most profit). If you need a break from farming, there is heaps to do, from fishing, to prospecting, and running errands for others.

Astro Ranch has a simple 3D look to it, with lots of colour. It does look a bit ugly, but its functional. The sound is average but you can use your ipod while farming. Alongside everything there is to do in the game, there is also downloadable content for aesthetic purposes, as well as the ability to mail and send items to friends.

Astro Ranch is a game with a good sense of humour and a lot of content. If you enjoy games like Farmville or Animal Crossing, you're going to be spending a lot of time in this game. For others, the slow buildup of your farm might not be enough to keep you interested.
