Ninjas are attacking and they've taken your girlfriend somehow. That's the premise of Adult Swim's latest foray into mobile gaming. As Major Mayhem, you need to travel deep into the heart of enemy territory and slaughter hundreds of ninjas mercilessly to make the world safer... and for booty.

The game has sort of a Time Crisis / Operation Wolf vibe to it. You run from cover to cover and you pop out to mow down ninjas. Your gun is fired by tapping the screen where you want to shoot, and most ninjas will go down with a well placed bullet (ninjas with hats are a little tougher). Most of their fire will miss you, but a bullet with a red mark around it will hit you if you're not careful. These can be avoided by either ducking back into cover or shooting it out of the air.

Each level awards you up to three medals depending on how well you chained together kill multipliers and attacked random livestock for points. There are plenty of weapon upgrades to aid in keeping your score alive and enacting ninja genocide, as well as mini platforming segments between bouts of cover.

The game has a rather odd art style, kind of caught in the middle of low res polygons and textures and a cel-shaded cartoon look. There is however a nice use of color and you'll never have a problem noticing ninjas or their projectiles. The music has an adrenaline pumping action movie feel to it that never dulls through the game's cavalcade of missions.

One criticism of this title is that the isn't too much variation between levels and especially in the jungle sections, many levels feel like you're just going through the motions yet again. Also on older iDevices there are some lag issues and the loading times are a little longer than they should be. With that said, this game is a lot of fun and should satisfy anyone with a desire for a good action game.
